Obituary of Reed W. Stevens

Reed W. Stevens, 77, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on September 19, 2018 surrounded by family. Reed worked for the Syracuse Police Department for 31 years, retiring as sergeant where he oversaw security at Hancock Airport.  Reed was a member of the PBA, FOP and the Valley Men’s Club.  He was a big Yankee fan and loved watching his grandsons, Michael and Jake play baseball with his granddaughter, Alyssa.

Reed was predeceased by his parents, Reed and Kathryn.  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Peg (Flint) Stevens, children; Rick (Judie), Mark (Ange), Lisa Wood, Terrilyn, Donna (Dan) Duff, Cindy Sass, Lisa (Mike) DePalma and Mark (Sheri) Strife; sisters, Gretchen and Kathryn Lampe, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Church, 214 N. Lowell Ave.  Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave.  Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Men’s Club; 110 Academy St. Syracuse, New York 13207
