Obituary of Stephen B. Hoey

Stephen B. Hoey, of Onondaga Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home surrounded by his family.
He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. Steve played professional baseball for the Western Carolina League. For many years he played semi pro football with the Syracuse Stars and continued to play fast and slow pitch softball in the Syracuse Area. He retired from CSX as a locomotive engineer. Steve enjoyed playing golf but never quite got the hang of it. "Farewell to all my teammates that I met through life."
He is survived by his wife, Cathy A. Hoey (Moran), his loving daughters, Sarah (Dan) Pickard, Jessica Hoey, Rebecca Hoey and Alison (Dr. Benzi) Hoey Kluger, his beloved grandchildren, Stephen, Ashley, Ryan and Brittany, his sister, Marlene Dennis and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Hospice (Lois) for their support and wonderful care they provided.
Calling hours will be Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 2 to 5pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Services and burial will be private.
