Dear McCarthy Family: I am so sadden to hear of the passing of Tommy, Tommy and I were childhood friends, We played West End baseball together, We also were on a Saturday morning bowling league for about 3 years, I still have my trophy, We would walk home and stop at Harrison's bakery and get treats, The Willis Ave house was a great hang out, Mr. McCarthy working on cars in the garage in the back and Mrs. McCarthy always feeding us. Celebrating a life well lived. I will cherish the memories forever. Till we meet again my friend!!!

Dearest McCarthy Family,
"When we move away from our childhood home, we never
forget those who stayed. Many memories too. Very good memories.
Tommy, Mark C., Joe K., Carvey. What a bunch of fellas!!!
"Eclipse"...wonderful playtime. Burnet Park, get togethers & music, music, music. He loved to play his drums and all loved to listen. I bet I still have some of his drumsticks in my treasures!
We kept in touch over the years, writing letters. A lost art.
Time goes by too quickly. Then we end up writing these type of notes. Not fair.
Tommy, will be in the hearts of those he touched. Those he loved and laughed with. With that beautiful music, playing in the background. Memories full of "Sweet Emotion."
"May God keep you in His Loving care."
Suzanne, who grew up on Ulster St.

I haven't been in touch with you ever since I moved away at the age of 12 in ‘73. My childhood friend. I can still remember playing west end little league baseball on the same team –pitcher and catcher.
Walking to St. Brigids's School, and waiting for summer vacation. Beginning to make music together – our first lessons – drums and trumpet. Destiny just drifted us apart, but I always liked to think we would reconnect
in some way again…imagining that we will
be in our 60s or 70s, sitting on a front porch or in our backyard and talk for hours.
Angela, Thomas, Lisa and Timothy – and all of the family, you are in my thoughts…Goodbye Tommy - Rest in peace old friend.

Ill always remember having great talks throughout the years. Time would pass and we'd pick up the phone just as easy as if no time passed. Ill remember being at all of his band shows and along with his parents we bought the chimes he wanted. Tommy could hold honest deep converstions and we laughed a lot ill always remember his smile and that giggle. To his family and friends I send prayers and love. Im truly sorry.
