Obituary of Virginia C. Loweecey

Virginia (Vincenza) C. (Scarpulla) Loweecey, 92, of Westvale (Syracuse) died Thursday in her home. Virginia was born in New York City, and later moved to Syracuse. She earned her Associate Degree from Maria Regina/Onondaga Community College and was a Certified Professional Secretary at Upstate Hospital and the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
She was active in bowling, swimming, bridge, golf, tap dancing and yoga, and she loved to attend plays. She traveled to places such as Alaska, Hawaii, China, Spain, Greece and Egypt.
Virginia volunteered and was involved in Geddes Senior Citizens, CSEA, Daughters of Columbus, Civic Social, National Secretaries Association, AARP, American Italian Club, Home Bureau, Garden Club, and served as an Election Inspector.
She was predeceased by her brother, John Scarpulla of Long Island, NY.
Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her four children, Phil (Alice) Loweecey of Amherst, NY, Carol (Paul) Rolince of Syracuse, NY, Tricia (Gary) FitzSimons of Lima, NY, and Laurie (Mike Seader) Loweecey of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Carolyn, Jessica, Paul and Charles; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Avery; and a brother, Dominick Scarpulla of Phoenix, AZ.

Services will be held Saturday December 14th at 11:30am at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Family will receive friends from 10:30am to 11:30 am prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. She will be greatly missed.
