Obituary of Vera C. (Lundy) Kingston

Vera C. Kingston, age 91, formerly of Westvale and resided at The Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center at Cunningham, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2014 with family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, NY to Edward P. and Catherine M. (Burkart) Lundy of Syracuse. Vera attended Cherry Road Elementary School (Westvale) and graduated with honors from Solvay High School. After high school she was employed as a legal secretary and then by The Solvay Process Company for many years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, of 64 years and is survived by their three sons; Tom (Kathy), Steve (Diane) and John (Sharon); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Eleanor Clapper and Mary (Ralph) Fox and two brothers, Edward (Janice) Lundy and William (Chris) Lundy. Vera was a devoted wife and mother and found her greatest joy and happiness with her family. Funeral services are Tuesday, February 04, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 11:00 a.m. and calling hours will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the church, prior to a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, 750 E. Adams St. Syracuse, NY 13210.
