Obituary of Theresa "Terry" Gosson

Theresa "Terry" Gosson, 85, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born in Allentown, PA, Terry was the daughter of the late Gus and Kathryn Taylor. She graduated from Central High School and attended Syracuse University where she studied Fine Arts. Terry was a charismatic and fashionable trendsetter. She was a residential and commercial interior designer business owner, who designed several family homes in the Camillus area. Her contemporary design approach respected natural environmental elements and she had a creative flair for efficient space design. She was an accomplished golfer, playing competitively with the Syracuse Women's District Golf Assn. for many years and a longtime member of Tuscarora Golf Club. Terry was an artist, specializing in oil painting and a member of the Board of Governors of the Associated Artists of Syracuse. Her still-life portraits were noted to be in the style of Cezanne, according to a newspaper account. Her husband John, her daughter Christine, her sons John and Gary, and her brothers Bill Taylor and Frank Taylor predeceased her. She is survived by her son Mike (Cora), daughter Tracy (John McLaughlin) of Baltimore, and daughter-in-law Mary, Brother-in-law Richard (Maryann), Sisters-in-law Ann Gadbaw, Lydia Taylor, Janice Corazza, several nieces and nephews. Terry's greatest joy came from her grandchildren Grace, Molly, Gus, and Marcy. They will miss their "TG". Terry's family would like to thank Hospice, the staff at the Villas at Summerfield, and especially the Home Aides of CNY for the loving care they provided. Services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford St.. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Edward J. Ryan Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St. Liverpool, NY 13088.
