Thomas G. Centore, 92 of Syracuse, a loving and devoted family man passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 with his family by his bedside. Born in Syracuse he was a graduate of Central High School and Syracuse University. Tom was a veteran of World War II proudly serving with the 8th Air Force in England. He was a communicant of Most Holy Rosary church where he was a lector, usher and a member of the Seniors Club. He was a volunteer of the Valley Babe Ruth League and Community General Hospital. He retired in 1988 as a Senior Contract Administrator from General Electric.
Tom was an avid Syracuse University sports fan. He enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling and wintering in Florida. Tom could be found at his children and grandchildren's many events.
Tom is predeceased by his beautiful wife of 66 years, Mary Agnes Keohane, his sisters Glorianne, Rosecarmel DeMari, Marie Matchuk and his son in law, Thomas Fahey.
He is survived by his children, Christine (Neil) Strodel , Therese (John) Losty, Tom (Carol), Eileen (Richard) Fahey-Wright, Sheila Centore Wall, Philip, Mark (Susan), Anne (Michael) Navaroli, Lisa (Edward) Goodsell and David (Brenda). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, Taylor (Brandon) Green, Adam Strodel, Chelsea (Kevin) Leveille, Leah (John) Hall, Meredith Losty, Shauna (Kyle) Lyskawa, Matthew(Margaret) Losty, Kimberly and Tom Centore, Zachary (Laura) Wall, Brenton (Kate) Wall, Michael Wall, Luke and Samuel Centore, Katherine, Kevin and Jack Centore, Anthony, Garrett, Alana and Olivia Navaroli, Aidan and Lilly Goodsell, Ava, Sophie and Emma Centore. Six great grandchildren, Charlotte and Caroline Hall, Connor Losty, Ella Green, Taylor Wall, Cooper Leveille, sister, Patricia, brother Henry and a large extended loving family.
Funeral services will be at 10 am at Most Holy Rosary on Friday. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm on Thursday at Most Holy Rosary at 111 Roberts Avenue.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Most Holy Rosary School Scholarship Fund.
Tom proudly embraced his Italian heritage and passed on countless traditions to his children and his children's children. Arrivederci Tomaso.
