Obituary of Matthew James Jackson

Matthew James Jackson, 38, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. He was an engineering project coordinator for the City of Syracuse DPW, a communicate at St. Brigid- St. Joseph Church and a member of the Fuoco Athletic Club. Matthew was a one of a kind man, who would do anything for anyone and always help someone else before himself. He loved SU sports, the Giants, spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Tanner James. Matthew is predeceased by his grandparents, Walter and Mary Jackson, and Janet Sheehan, and grandson, Noah Cardinell. He is survived by the love of his life, Maureen Moriarty, step-children, Ciara, Brieanna (Corey), Joseph and Jake Pritchard, his parents, James and Mary Jackson, sister, Erin (Alex Pineda) Jackson and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and God son. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Brigid - St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer St. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1 to 4pm at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation's in Matthew's memory may be made to St. Brigid – St. Joseph's Food Pantry or Bears of Hope; PO Box 352 Stanhope Gardens NSW 2768.
