Mary Agnes Kitts (Mahoney), 88, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015. She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse, NY. She graduated from St. Anthony's High School and Eastman Dental School where she earned a degree as a dental hygienist.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, parents, Harold and Agnes Mahoney, brother, Thomas Mahoney, and grandson, Christopher Michael Kitts.
Mary worked for many years at Dey Brothers and retired from Crouse Hospital after a long career in Admissions. She also worked for the Sisters of St. Francis.
Mary was an energetic sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on her children and grandchildren in all of their sports. Mary was a life-long SU fan. She was a devoted mother to her 5 children and beloved as "Nonnie" to her grandchildren. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children and doing things with them. She vacationed with her children and grandchildren on many occasions over the years including trips to Cape Cod, Orlando, and Virginia Beach.
Surviving are her sons, T. Michael and G. Vincent Kitts (Ann); daughters, Theresa (James) Driscoll, Joanne Kitts, and Mary Catherine Hunter; daughter-in-law, Angela Kitts; grandchildren, Patrick and Jason (Kerry) Driscoll, Ryan and Eric (Heather) Hunter, Laura (Michael) Vincent, Caitlyn, Sarah, and Claire Kitts, and Michael and Sarah C. Kitts; great-grandchildren, Molly and Katie Driscoll and Eric J. Hunter, II.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
