Obituary of Nancy Corts Rowlands

Nancy Corts Rowlands, 82, of Syracuse, NY died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Van Duyn Nursing & Rehab Center after a long illness. Nancy was born in Utica but has resided in Syracuse for the last 49 years. She was a legal secretary for Mackenzie Hughes Law Firm for many years. She also worked as an Assistant Special Education Teacher at Cherry Road School in Westvale. Nancy was past president of the Whitestown and Mohawk Valley Jaycettes. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Roger Earl Rowlands; three sons, Roger (Mary) of Syracuse, Steven of Camillus and Brian (Cheryl) of Fort Ann, NY. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brooke, Brian, Tyler, Michael, and Sheila and Mark Rowlands; her sisters, Marilyn Ling and Suann Behm plus several nieces and nephews. Services are Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial is immediately following at Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 26th from 4:00 -7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
