I am just now learning of Dean Coleman's passing and I am heartsick at the news. Dean Coleman gave me faith in myself as the president of a dorm on the Trinity College campus. She helped me see that in hard work there was always a place for fun and laughs and...daiquiris! I admired her and respected her and am so very sad to learn she is no longer with us. She was a mentor and friend and gave me many positive and fond memories of my Trinity College experience, all of which I treasure.

To the Coleman family: It is with extreme sadness that I learned today of Dean Coleman's passing. I simply adored this woman. I had many dealings with her during my time at Cazenovia and can truthfully say she was the single most influential person in my life. I am so thankful now that I went to my 50th reunion and was able to give her a hug and say those same words to her. So Winnie - "Shape up or ship out"! I've tried to do the former all my life. Love you.

My sympathies to Dean Coleman's family. I am a 1971 graduate of Cazenovia and remember what a caring and inspiring individual she was. Her apartment was located on our residence hall floor, and she handled our craziness with class and humor. What an amazing life and legacy!

I was so sorry to hear the news of Dean Coleman's passing. My deepest sympathy to the entire Coleman Clan. As Dean of Students at Trinity College, she was a strong influence, mentor, inspiration and role model for me as well as source of many laughs! We "worked" together on various student government issues and I still remember her fondly every Christmas when I hang a Christmas ornament she gave me many years ago on our tree. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Annie O'Neill Schulte '77

As part of the Saint Joseph College, class of 2004 I am so sorry for your loss. Winnie was an amazing person; she took the time to know our personal lives, and always made it a point to say hello and check in. When she retired, many of us wished she could have stayed; but she earned her retirement. Her passing brings so much sadness. She was a joy to have as a president & to know on a personal level. My heart goes out to every one of you.

On behalf of the Cazenovia College class of 1958, of which Dean Coleman was an honorary member, we wish to acknowledge your loss. As students we found in Winnie, a woman of extreme patience, kindness, fairness and humor.
The grace with which she faced her last difficult years reflects admirably on her great spirit. With Winnie's passing we have lost a dear & cherished friend. For all of us it is the end of an era.

Winnie was my unforgettable friend and classmate all our years together at St. Pat's. Smart, funny, friendly and fun are some of the many terms that come to mind when I think of her. A credit to her family and all her many associates. "Save me a seat up there, Winnie!" Love & sympathy to the Coleman family, Patsy (McArdle) Shively

Dearest Coleman Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Winnie's passing. I enjoyed my times with her over meals in Skantown, Caz events, trips to SU and of course shopping, as well as The Athenaeum. I will never forget all the stories that I heard from both her and her students! I'm sure that she is helping to "put things in order" so that when we arrive, all will be in it's proper place! May you experience the peace that only God can provide through the next few days. Most Sincerely, Shari Henderson

I will always remember Winnie. She left a lasting impression on me and I will never forget my first day at Trinity when she passed me in the hallway and addressed me by my name! She knew the name of every one of my classmates. She was a wonderful role model and leader. I am so grateful for her presence in my life.
