Kathleen (Mulroy) Hurley died on Thursday, August 13th at St. Camillus. Kathleen has lived for the past 20 years with multiple sclerosis and with cancer for the past 6 years. She graduated from St. Anthony of Padua in 1969 and LeMoyne College in 1973. Kathleen taught math at Gillette Road Middle School in North Syracuse from 1973 to 1983. She also taught math at North Syracuse Junior High from 1983 to 1995. Upon retiring from North Syracuse, she provided volunteer tutoring for 15 years at Bishop Ludden. She has also tutored hundreds of relatives, friends and neighbors as well as students from Bishop Grimes, CBA, Solvay, West Hill West Genesee, Onondaga and Lafayette High Schools in her home. She is survived by sons, Timothy (Stacy) of Rochester, New York, Kevin (Jennifer) of Seattle, Washington, daughter, Mary of Onondaga, New York and grandchildren, Brendan and Ryan Hurley of Rochester, New York. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Nappa, two brothers, Michael and Daniel (Martha) Mulroy and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours or funeral because Kathleen has donated her body for the advancement of medical education and research to the Anatomical Gift Program at Upstate Medical University. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 10:30 am at Most Holy Rosary Church in Syracuse, New York.
