After tragically losing their first child, Krista to leukemia in 1974, they continued their family life with sons, Daniel Jr. (Kelly) and Bradley (Ashley), and grandchildren, Grant, Julia, and Aiden. Dan and Barb often entertained their family and large circle of friends poolside at the Thompson "ranch" overlooking Mt. Shasta. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Anne Rita, is survived by brothers, Michael, Thomas (Nancy), George (Mary Kay) Thompson, and Sharon (Jim) Saukas, and numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and many cousins.
