To Joey and the Vanelli family my deepest sympathy and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I am also sorry I was unable to attend the funeral services but I am recovering from appendix surgery and need rest. I will never forget your kindness towards me during our high school years, which I am sure was taught to you by your father Deacon Peter. Please take of yourselves and each other.
Love your friend Maureen Sullivan Navatka. Ludden class of 1983.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Deacon Peter Vanelli. Deacon Peter taught my daughters to be altar servers and also baptized my son at St. Charles. We loved taking our Easter baskets to be blessed by him on Holy Saturday. He really lived the Gospel and did it joyfully. With God's Everlasting Love, Ann DelBalzo Liccione, Christina Liccione Magana, Theresa Liccione and Christopher Liccione

I always looked forward to the time that I spent visiting Peter as a volunteer with the VA. It was a privilege to know such a compassionate man whose service provided an example of what mankind can be. May his memory continue to give guidance and strength in our lives.

It has been an honor and a privilege to have known Mr. Vanelli. This man has been such a blessing to so many. He will truly be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have had an opportunity to know him. I\'m sure the entire Vanelli family is hurting right now, but I hope there can be some consolation in knowing that he is rejoicing in heaven with his beloved wife and sons that left this life way to early. I\'m sure God has a special place for you. Rest in peace Mr. Vanelli, there are very few as fine as you!

Dear Maria, and family, Your hearts grieve and yet rejoice at the same time as we know your Dad is safely home at last. He is finally seeing Jesus face-to-face, and all of his loved ones who have gone before him...and one day you will join them. I have so many fond memories of your Dad at St. Charles...When Deacon Peter baptized my first baby, his little grandson was there at church with him too, and you could see how devoted a Deacon and how dedicated a grandpa he was...Deacon Peter was very blessed to have you as his daughter. Please accept our sympathy. Sincerely, Marilyn (Tickner) McNamara and family
