Gladys Jane Germain passed away Sept 10, 2016 just shy of her 94th birthday while being cared for at Van Duyn Home. Jane worked in retail most of her life with Dey Brothers & E. W. Edwards and retired from Bank of New York. She and husband, Emory were active in the VFW of Solvay and The Solvay Youth Center. She worked with the center up until 1 month ago, with wonderful memories. They lived in the Taunton, N.Y. area since 1955 as one of the originals in the Ormsby Track and made many fond friendships. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Emory F. Germain 6 years ago. She is survived by her sons, Gerald "Jer" (Sara) Germain, of Baldwinsville and James "Jim" (Helen) Germain, of Concord, N.C., grandchildren; Aimee Germain, Todd Germain, Sean Germain, and Holly Gange, and their families, as well as 20 great grandchildren, many great nieces and nephews; in –law families of Arlo Johnson of Jordon, N.Y., the Louer's of Syracuse, N.Y., and Helen (Germain) Rauhala of Webster, N.Y. and step grandchildren of David and Jon Nentwick and Sue Freely. The kindness of the nurses and her neighbors at the Winkworth Apts is truly appreciated. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. A prayer service will be held at 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10am at Onondaga County's Veteran Memorial Chapel.
