Mr. Serrao was my teacher. Mr.Lutwin just passed which prompted me to look up others- he was the best ever, leaving the lack of ability in others very evident, especially to impressionable young people. With teaching comes responsibility beyond the subject matter, it takes a good heart to guide and lead in a memorable way.

Joe Jr. Sorry for your loss. Your dad played a big part in many young kids’ lives who loved math, as I remember him at Shea. I remember his signature voice, very deep and caring. I also remember him as a fixture on the side lines at cross country meets, cheering on the Cougars. I remember seeing him every day making that morning walk from his house to Shea. What a great man. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Dear Pauline and family,
My heart is aching for all of you during this most difficult time. The Serrao's have been such close friends with my parents over the years and I was lucky enough to join in on the fun with them during summer gatherings at the River House and MHR Cruises. I will miss his smiley face and ever present love for life. I pray for healing peace for all of you. ðŸ™ðŸ»â¤ï¸ Kathryn Bornhurst

Dear Pauline and family, How does one truly express their
sadness of Joe's passing. We have known each other for
a very long time. We lived across the street from each other
for many years. Shared good and bad times together.
"Death leaves a heartache no one can fill, love leaves a
memory no one can steal," From a headstone in Ireland.
God Bless. Al and Shelly Polge and Family

Such a kind and loving man. I had the pleasure of working with Joe at Shea school for many years. He taught all 4 of my children. He will be missed but never forgotten. God bless him and his wonderful, caring family.

We were saddened to hear about the loss of such a kind and loving man. We have been fortunate over the years to see Pauline and Joe on many occasions although fewer since the days at Shea. They were a wonderful couple and were blessed to be surrounded by so many members of the large family. I'm sure all of them will continue to be inspired over the years by the examples set by this long time couple and Syracuse asset.
