To my brother and I, Ms. Grillo was more than the kind woman who lived next door. She was like a grandmother to us. From the time we were small, she always took an interest in what we had to say, and we never missed an opportunity to give her the latest news of our adventures. As we grew older and started to think about our lives after high school, her interest never flagged. Seldom had someone outside my family treated what I had to say with such seriousness and respect. She truly inspired us all with her indomitable character, wit, and kindness. God bless you, Mrs. G. We love you.
