Obituary of Anne Marie Barry
Anne M Barry, 82, formerly of Sunhill Terrace, Syracuse, passed away peacefully on November 24th. Anne is now reunited with her parents, Cecelia Sanford Barry and Albert Barry along with her brothers, Joseph, Robert and Thomas Barry, who all predeceased her.
Anne was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary School and made many lifelong friends there.
She had a long career at Equitable and Upstate Engineering, where she retired. Anne enjoyed gardening, painting and flower arranging. She was a longtime volunteer at Sarah’s Guest House where she pitched in to provide transportation, meals, lodging and comfort to patients and families receiving medical care in the area, and she embraced their mission. Anne was a communicant of St Anne’s church where she was very involved in church activities and even enlisted her nieces and nephews in helping her count the collection money. As an avid Syracuse University Basketball fan, she would never miss watching a game on the TV.
Anne leaves behind her nephews Sean (Kim), Kevin, Dennis (Danielle), Robert (Margaret) and Joseph (Marijane Reilly) Barry , and nieces Lynne (Robert) Bird, Patricia (G. James) Menotti, Joan ( James) Walsh, Noreen (Kenneth) Hammerle. She is also survived by many great and great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nieces Kathleen (Joe) Moran and Mary Kae (Robert) Olney.
Please join us in celebrating Anne’s life on December 9, 2019 for a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Ann’s Church, 4471 Onondaga Blvd. Syracuse, NY 13219. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11am-12pm prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
