Obituary of Irving W. Potter

Irving W. Potter, 96, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on December 25, 2019. He worked for 30 years in the service department for Niagara Mohawk and was a member of Our Lady of Peace. Irv was a World War II veteran; having served in the Army from January 16, 1943 to February 21, 1946, in both Europe (Italy and France) and the Pacific (Okinawa).
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Mary (Peg) Potter, his first wife, Angie Potter, brothers-in-law, John Hennigan and Robert Hennigan, and sister-in-law, Virginia Hennigan. Irv is survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Hennigan and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11am at Our Lady of Peace; 203 Halcomb St. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11am prior to mass at the church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt.
