Morrissey family please accept my sincere condolences on Jimmy's death. Jimmy and I had recently reconnected on Facebook, as Jimmy sent me a picture of our St Joes 8th grade basketball picture. I have many fond memories of Jimmy from our grammar school days. Jimmy was a born leader. Jimmy single handedly led our St Joes 8th grade basketball team to the city championship game. I'll remember Jimmy as one of the best all around athletes that I have played sports with. Jimmy RIP.

Mr. and Mrs. Morrissey and family, please accept my heartfelt condolences on Jim’s passing. Although I hadn’t seen Jim in over 30 years, the memories I have of grammar school will be cherished forever mainly in part because of Jim and your family. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. Jim was such a huge part of my life as I began my professional career at ( RPS/FedEx ) I would remember our daily coaching sessions which played such a role in my success . Jim was my mentor which tuned into a wonderful friendship that lasted over 25 years. I will always remember two things about playing golf with Jim , First , he would play with a golf ball that had a Mickey Mouse decal on it and he said he was going make Mickey scream and sure enough he would hit that draw drive that would roll and roll, Second , every damn time I would be up a stroke or two on him and he would talk trash ( Mental Game ) and sure enough he we would tie with a 20 ft birdie putt or I would miss a 3ft putt for par and he would win by one. We parted ways for a couple of years as our careers followed different paths , but would once again bring us back together in VA. Jim along with Theresa and the kids ( Jimmy and Meghan ) 17 years ago supported me and my wife ( Pam ) as we started our family by adopting our 1st of 3 children ( Thomas who is in the pic with Jim ) , Viktor and LauraRose. The whole family opened their arms to us, shared their home , time and love for us . My last time seeing Jim was when he drove up to see my daughter play in a softball tournament ( Space Coast Facility ) 2 years ago . We had lunch , talked about our kids , he was so proud of Jimmy and Meghan , couldn't stop gushing about them, we shared the good old times and we watched my daughter show off our skills. Jim could not be prouder of me as a Father , my career and as a person, but of course he always had a jab for me and asked where Laura got her skills ( I was her coach )
Jim will be missed by many and I will never forget what he meant to me
I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers from my family to yours

My condolences to Jim’s family. We were close friends growing up and playing sports. He made me get better because he was always better. Jim was the best all around athlete in CNY growing up. Jim and Mr. and Mrs. Morrissey were so kind and welcoming to me and so many others at their home. I still have the memories of basketball in the driveway, tv in the family room and food.
I have a couple pics that will bring back some great memories of Jim. Anyone who knew him had a good friend with a great smile. We will all miss him down here.

I have been in shock since I heard about Jimmy's passing. I played football and baseball with Jim at Bishop Ludden who was,at the time a year younger than me.. I was the part time quarterback on the Freshman team at Ludden on a team that did not win a game and I recall reading an article in the paper about this athlete who was coming to Ludden as a ninth grader. This article described this kid as the best athlete that the Syracuse area will see at that time. That was the year that I decided to stick to baseball because Jimmy was everything and more than what the papers described but what they did not add was what a gentleman he always was to every life he touched. We went many years without connecting but we got together just recently on Facebook and shared some stories. I told him that next March I was going to be down his way and we could connect with another Ludden grad nearby. He always shared his photos with me about his adventures on the water and how peaceful it was.I would like to extend my heartfelt love and prayers to his family and may they be comforted knowing what a great man and friend Jimmy was. God Bless you all.

To the parents, children, siblings and extended family of Jim. Please accept my deepest sympathies upon Jim's passing. I was stunned to read about this. Jim was one of the greatest three-sport athletes to come out of Central NY. Words are never enough at a difficult time like this. However, I offer a simple poem that I like to share with friends at these moments. Hopefully it will bring some comfort.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
May you all find peace of heart and rest in knowing that Jim resides in the bosom of Christ and his Blessed Mother.

Kathy and the Morrissey family,
I was shocked and saddened when I heard of Jim’s passing. Jim was one of the best athletes to ever attend Bishop Ludden. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a teammate of his during his time at Ludden.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that you are all in my prayers.
RIP Jim. Gone too soon but never forgotten.

Mr & Mrs Morrissey, Ann, Kathy, Sue, Diane, Meagan & Jimmy - please accept my heartfelt condolences and prayers for the loss of your son, brother and dad. I am proud to count Jim as one of my all-time best friends. He was a great guy and the best all-around athlete I have ever known. I was looking forward to some retirement golf with him since we lived only about 15 miles apart in florida, but it wasn't meant to be. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing Jesus tells us that death is not the last word and we will be reunited with Jim one day. For now he surely will be missed. Jim Spencer
