Mom...You will be sorely missed but always remembered. Your smile and laugh always lit up a room and made any cloudy day sunny. Your kindness and love for people will be forever unmatched as you finally rest in the hands of God. Growing up with the Evans Family...Jack and Margaret, Lynn, Randy, Karen, David, Eric and Robert...on the "Hill" provided many of us with memories and laughs for a lifetime. Like with my parents, there is not a passing day that goes by I do not shed a tear missing their simple presence and smile. The same to you, Margaret and Jack. Peace and love as you now enjoy eternal life.

I came to what was called ENABLE (UCP of Syracuse) in January 1984. Margaret was my mentor and advisor in my new role as Program Director and she taught me so many of the organizational and funding ropes. Here's a funny story though - we were walking up the stairs to the second floor where we both had our offices. She looked down at my shoes and said, "You can't wear those (they were white). It's after Labor Day!" Having grown up in the South, I did not know this rule! She had an incredible sense of fashion and style!
Margaret was also an incredible advocate for individuals with disabilities and their families. She never took no for an answer and always worked to resolve whatever problems her clients were having.
I hadn't seen Margaret in 30 years but I will always remember her as an influential person in my life. It was fun to see the recent pictures of her and learn about her adventures.
My condolences to the Family.

It was with great sadness that I read of her passing. I knew her well at Valley High School, as did most of us. She was a wonderful woman & Mother.
Dick, I remember you preaching at Onondaga Valley church. I still belong to what is left of our church. You probably know that we sold the church & now meet at Atonement church by Zoom. My deepest condolences Edwina (Eger) Norton.

The Evans family was a huge part of our lives during our years on Onondaga Hill. Margaret was a wonderful friend and I will always cherish the long conversations that we had over tea and her favorite cookies -- always served with her best china and silver teapot. She was generous to a fault -- always thinking of her family and her many friends first. Aside from her many accomplishments, I think her greatest love was being a nurse -- she loved being a bedside nurse, bringing love and comfort to her patients. Despite the fact that she suffered macular degeneration during her latter years, it never stopped her from participating fully in life -- always "dressed to the nines".
My sympathies to the Evans family, to Margaret's sister, Annette, brother, Dick, and their families. Thank you Margaret's "children" for your loving care during the past several weeks. You all are her true legacy.
Rest in peace, dear friend. You can be very proud of "a life well lived". With much love, the Hanson family -- Brian and Barbara, Steve and Tina and Nancy and Rich Kelly.

I am so sorry for your loss...Margaret was like a second Mom to me growing up down the street, and being close friends with Karen. She was always cheerful and helpful, to everyone! My brothers and sisters also send their condolences. We all loved Mrs. Evans!

To the Evans family from the James family. Growing up I remember your wonderful mom with a beautiful, signature smile that was priceless! In fact I don't remember a time that your mom was not smiling. We are very sorry for your loss and please know that she will be in our prayers.
