Gerry was in my Turkish language class in Monterey, CA and became close friends and dive buddies. He called me in 2002 doing a BI on me. He had retired from both Blue Cross and the FBI and was doing BI investigations as a contractor.

My belated regrets to the Gallagher family. I was privileged on several occasions during Jerry’s assignment with the Syracuse, RA; to as a member of the Sheriffs’ Office provide some assistance. Jerry who could be very serious, never the less seemed to have a friendly smile and easy manor; a man who was enjoyable to be with..
My sympathies for The Gallagher family all, may Jerry be resting at peace with our Lord and God.
David Stevenson, OCSO Ret.

Jennie, Mark, Nicole, Genie, and Family,
I'm so sad to hear about this huge loss. Your father was such a great man and always welcomed me, and all of your friends, into his home with a smile and snacks. I have so many great memories growing up with you, Jennie, and the times we spent with your dad - or sneaking out without him seeing us! I've driven by the Kencrest home many a time waving and saying hi! You are all in my heart and prayers.
Love,
Katie Mack

Dear Genie, Nicole, Mark, Jennie and Your Families,
It is with profound sorrow that we learned of the passing of Gerry today. Charlie and Gerry go back many, many years to when they both worked as partners in the New York Office. They traveled back and forth to the city commuting ~ doing puzzles and sharing many good times. They then bought a house two doors away from us in East Northport, and our friendship grew closer. We had shared great dinners and wonderful times together. It was in East Northport that Nicole and Mark came into our lives. We still remember the excitement of Nicole coming into the country. What a wonderful blessing! Our boys called Gerry "Uncle Gerry" because he used to play with them, was so much fun to be with and always made them feel so welcome and special. It was a sad day when they relocated to Syracuse, but not long after, Jennie was born. Then, two of our sons attended SUNY Oswego and we would visit with the Gallaghers when dropping off the boys and picking them up from college. They in turn, spent several Thanksgiving weekends with us ~ arriving Wednesday night, the guys taking the children into the city for the big parade and then coming home and all of us enjoying Thanksgiving Dinner together. Those were special times!
To Our Dear Friend Gerry ~ "May the road rise up to meet you and the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rains fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you safely in the palm of his hand".
May you rest in Peace!
To you, his beloved family, we send our deepest sympathy, prayers and our love to you all,
Ronnie, Charlie, Rich, Bob and Ray Bennardo

Condolences to Gerry's family on the lose of a great guy. I worked for many years with Gerry, we worked lot of cases together, and he was always the consummate professional Agent with an endearing personality. It was my great honor to have known him.
