My sincere condolences on Martha's passing. I went to Nottingham with "Marty" and although we weren't buddies I knew her to be a nice gal and full of life. I had a small part in our senior year musical, Bye Bye Birdie, in which Martha played the lead female part. I can still visualize her perky Kim on stage! As an adult we spent time working on two class reunions starting with the 45th. She turned out to be a lovely, kind and friendly woman. I will miss her and send kind thoughts to her family who I imagine have loved her deeply.

Chris, Jeff, Carolyn, and Craig,
We are so very sorry to hear about Marti. We used to be your neighbors on Twin Hills Drive and I was so lucky to work with Marti in the CCU at Upstate for many, many years. We were neighbors, co-workers and most importantly, friends. We had many, many laughs together. She will be sorely missed. We hope that your fond memories will help you through this difficult time.

My father, Harold Smulyan, worked with Marty at Upstate and the VA and often told us that she was funny and smart -- both high compliments in his book. He would repeat her quips at dinner for the whole family to enjoy. Dad died in early December but until the end was checking on how Marty was doing. May her memory be a blessing.

Marty will be dearly missed! I remember learning to do echocardiograms with her, as a fellow, many years ago. She has been a wonderful colleague and friend ever since. Always bright & chirpy, with a great sense of humor. Impeccable in her work, and always had a smile. I can still see her running behind a large echo machine along the corridors of the VA Hospital..........RIP, Marty!

Scott, Lucian and I were so sad to hear of Marty's passing. She welcomed us to the neighborhood when we moved in. I remember seeing her reading her books out on the front porch and got to the point where I looked for her so I could wave. She was so kind and sweet! She would always tell me to relax when it came to Lucian running over to the yard. I will miss my conversations with her! Take comfort in your memories of Marty and know that she is always with you, smiling.

Martha was my first friend when my family moved to Dorset Rd in 1957. Martha lived on Stratford St and her house was right behind mine where our backyards were connected by a path. We walked to elementary school together every day. Even though over the years we developed a different set friends at school, we both remembered that special early bond. We had a great email exchange this past summer. She sounded so positive and courageous and mentioned the wonderful support of her family.
Sending warm thoughts to all of you!

Our deepest sympathy to Chris and Family with the passing of Marte.
The Dear Lord has gained an Angel.
Marte was a wonderful friend. She was loving, caring, friendly and funny. She could always make me laugh.
Whenever I was in the hospital, she always found me and stopped in for a chat. An always with a smile on her face.
She held ny hand through all my heart testing.. She was such a gem.
We kept in touch as she was going through her treatments, checking in on her.
Marte, I wil truly miss you. My sidekick.
Rest In Paradise, my sweet friend. Until we meet again.
You will be forever in my heart <3

I will miss her so much. There is so much love coming your way. I can’t even find the words to say Chris Jeff Carolyn and Craig. Please know whatever you need. Except that I hope Lucy ,her cuddle dog , who would wait so faithfully everyday , laying on the hot driveway right where she parked jumped right in her lap, with hugs and said ok we have to watch over the troops now together.
