Here's a photo from 6 years ago. It's at Twin Trees I believe and my boys are little. I'm glad they got to meet my Uncle Bill. This visit was at the same time as the Syracuse Nationals and Uncle Bill pulled up to his daughter Jaclyn's house in a yellow hotrod. We got a ride around the neighborhood in this cool car with it's loud rumbling engine.
It's sad to know that when we return to Syracuse for a visit we won't see Uncle Bill. He was always great to us. When I was younger we'd stay at Grandma and Grandpa's house and he'd often be there when we woke up, just visiting in the kitchen. He'd tease me about sleeping late and about the large amount of cereal and bread I'd eat. I liked it. He was a good host out at the lake and would make sure we got a ride in the boat. We will miss him and I know his daughters, sister, and brothers will miss him terribly. Rest in Peace Uncle Bill.

So sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. He was a great neighbor and will be missed by his little buddies Will and Colin whom he always made candy runs for and chatted with:) He always knew who to call if you needed something repaired or done:) Billy was one of the Bridgeport Food Pantries' highest Duck salespersons for its Race year after year and always asked if it needed anything more? He would visit my daughter at work and make sure people were treating her right:) He was just a kind and caring man.
Sincerely,
Rachele, Dan, KD, Jack and Will Smith

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Back in the day Billy told me he always had a pair of socks with holes in them. I didn't understand the message he wanted to share. He explained that no matter what good or bad fortune you have in life, no matter the highs or lows, for him the socks were a reminder of where he came from and what was important to him. I always have a pair of socks with holes in them, thank you Billy for the lesson. Rest with the angels sweet man.

I had the pleasure of meeting Billy through one of his friends in the 80’s. I learned quickly what a kind, generous man he was. He was always nice to me from day one and treated me as a friend whenever I ran into him. Like he did with everyone. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Billy, a truly good man. I’ll always remember something he said to me: “ When you think you have it bad, just remember, there is always someone else who has it worse”. Rest In Peace, Billy

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this time of sorrow. I was a Fire Marshall with the Syracuse Fire Dept. and inspected some of his properties. When he found out I have MS, we developed a friendship. My daughter, Heidi, was a nurse at Camillus rehab center and cared for his wife Mary. He was the kindness person I have ever met.

Dear Jackie and Julie. I am heartbroken about the loss of your Dad. He always took so much pride in bragging about his family. I will always cherish our New York Tel memories with your parents. Many Friday nights, union meetings and camping trips with Marge and Bob. Please know I am praying for all of you during this difficult time. Wishing you peace and comfort knowing your parents are finally together. Your Dad often spoke how there would never be another like “Eggie”. Celebrate his life and remember when lives pass memories carry on forever in our hearts. Again so sorry. He was a kind and gentle spirit.

I will always remember Mr. Jackson as the very best neighbor, protector and friend.
He has done so much for myself and my family over the years.
Some of my earliest memories are of times spent with him and his family on the lake, out in the boat, swimming and just enjoying life.
He was always checking in to see if we needed anything, asking how my son's were doing and inviting us over for burgers, pizza or whatever he had on the grill that day.
He has filled my son's freezers in college on more than one occasion.
He was a great man and will be missed by many people, especially by everyone on Billington Bay.
