Jerry O’Dell, 80, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Monday August 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Jerry started working at Wegmans at 16 as a grocery clerk. He worked his way up to Vice President of the Syracuse division overseeing all of the Syracuse area stores. Jerry would say “I work for the greatest company in the world and I have the greatest family in the world”.

He was predeceased by his first wife Maureen O’Dell.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years Cheryl; children, Patrick (Stephanie), Timothy (Nicole), Kathleen (Douglas) Russell, Shannon, Michael (Kathleen), Sean (Erica); grandchildren, Erin, Nicholas, Carly, Alec, Darren, Lauren, Julia, Evan, Ryan, Sophia, Piper, Liam and Ella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday August 13, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 417 S Orchard Rd. Calling hours will be held Thursday August 12, 2021 from 4-7pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Donations may be made to Vera House attn: Development Director, 723 James Street Syracuse, NY 13203 or the Rescue Mission, 155 Gifford Street, Syracuse, NY 13202.
