To Ellen and Family, a wonderful person has left us, leaving many fine memories. I knew him as an opponent in the Courtroom- a determined litigator who had a great way with lawyers, judges, witnesses and most importantly the Jurors. Lo also knew him as a friend. Always fun to be with and more than happy to “have one” together. I am so glad to have run into Dick and Ellen recently at Bellevue. A strong handshake, that patented smile, a quick joke and a little Lawyer Gossip. It made my day. He will be missed by many. Dave Howe

Dick was an amazing friend to my father also Dick. They played golf together often at Bellevue and enjoyed each other’s company. He was a funny man with a quick wit. He called often as my dad got older to check on him and offer support. They can now play golf together in heaven. Friends once again. ❤️

My sincere condolences Ellen and Maggie and to your family. I just heard the news tonight and am so saddened. I am so very sorry for your loss -- and it is truly all of our loss -- he was a pillar of our legal community! He was always good for a smart, witty comment or insightful advice! He will be truly missed. It just won’t be the same without his big cases and seeing him in the courts and downtown. He is one of the “greats”. I looked up to him as a young lawyer and always will. My deepest sympathy.
