Tom and family: I am so sorry to hear of Tess' passing. I haven't seen her in many years but I still remember her friendly smile from back in our Syracuse Rec League softball and basketball days. A lot of after game fun at Copperfield's. I am so sorry for your loss and I am thinking of you all. I will keep Tess and all of you in my thoughts and prayers. My condolences.
Sincerely,
John Brown

Dear Tom and family,
I can't believe my sweet Tessie is gone! My first roommate at Sister Denison's...all of the young men wanted to date her, but Tom, you stole her heart! I remember her telling me she would never move out of state because she would never move far away from her family, so she truly made Syracuse her home. I always teased her about her sweetness and naivety, but that is truly what I loved most about her. I will keep her in my heart and remember her always. Love to you and your family.

Tom, Tara and Beth,
The Davises are saddened by the passing of Tess. She was an absolute joy to be around. Funny, humble and forever kind. Our home is filled with blankets, crafts and art projects that she either made for them or gave to our children to create. Tom, Tara and Beth, thank you for sharing her with us and we will always remember the trips to Marcellus Park, the ice cream shop and Christmas get-togethers. Thinking of you all. Love you guys.

Tess was a colleague at Syracuse University. She worked as an advisor to undergraduate students in the Political Science department for many years. The students adored Tess. She was so good at working with students. She would put them at ease not just by knowing the information about their major requirements and their classes that they were seeking, but by being positive and encouraging and a friendly, smiling face. Those of us who worked with her in the department were very appreciative of what a great job Tess did and what a positive presence she was in the department.
I am very sorry for your loss.

Tess Slater, the woman who could tomahawk swing at a softball and send it a mile, throw it even farther (…though her accuracy was a bit suspect) and the one who would ALWAYS make others laugh. Her joy for life was infectious. A doer in word and deed. May those who love Tess be sustained and strengthened by their memories of her that are underscored with laughter and love.
My deepest sympathies to Tom, Tara and Beth.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Tess. She was a beautiful and thoughtful person who surprised us with burp cloths that she added special embellishments to for the birth of our first child. These pictures showing such love are from a photo booth at our wedding in 2011. Our thoughts are with her family during these difficult times. Love, Sarah & Dave O'Neil
