Obituary of Barbara J. Ostrom

Barbara “Barb” Ostrom, 95, of Macedon, NY passed away peacefully January 10, 2022 at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canadaigua, NY.

Born in Glens Falls, NY on February 25, 1926 to the late W. Stanislaus and Mary A. McC. Kelleher. Barb was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She spent time teaching before marrying Francis Ostrom Jr. and relocating to Syracuse, NY. Barb was a longtime member and founding parishioner of St. Ann’s Church on Onondaga Blvd. She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Society and was an avid volunteer for any need the school or church may have had. Barb and Fran enjoyed their retirement years cross country skiing, golfing and traveling.

She is predeceased by her parents W. Stanislaus & Mary A. McC. Kelleher, siblings, Stan (Evelyn) Kelleher, Mary Kelleher, Lorraine Kelleher and Loretta Kelleher.

Barb is predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years Francis Ostrom Jr.

Barb is survived by children, Francis (Elizabeth) Ostrom III, Gerard (Sheila), Barbara (Christopher) Burke and Patricia (Timothy) Cowan, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held January 14, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Ann’s Church, Syracuse. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.
