I was incredibly saddened to hear of Robert's passing. He and I connected through DNA and West Galway genealogy. He was instrumental in helping expand our shared Galway research. May he Rest In Peace and his family be comforted.

Tank was a beautiful person inside and out. I enjoyed working with him on plays at Salt City Playhouse. He always made his own costumes for the plays he was in. His costumes for JCS were outrageous and fun because this man could sew. He will be missed by many because he was the type of person that was a joy to speak with. Rest in peace Tank. Tank, I will always treasure our friendship. I met our dear friend in 1994 when I joined the ensemble of Jesus Christ Superstar, and around 1996, he became even more of a friend and mentor to me when he helped me to learn the Mother Mary role. Plus, he sewed my headpiece too!!! Many times we went out to dinner at Danzers, and lunch and dinner here and there with our SCC bunch. He always drove, just because he wanted to. He was director to my stage manager at the Onondaga Hillplayers for many years. He always put up with my suggestions, i.e. "...do you think we should cut that line?", or "...maybe he/she should read it that way?", or etc etc. And God bless him, he used my suggestions about 80% of the time. "I'll make a director out of you yet." We both loved our dogs, and became 'godparents' to each other's pets. I will miss him so very much.

It's hard to put into words the amount of talent Tank had. Not only did he possess incredible talent and shared it with so many, but he made his colleagues better. A consummate professional, he never judged, was always prepared and brought such light to any production he tackled. I appeared onstage with Tank in quite a few productions and I witnessed his generosity over and over again. He owned every role. His "Herod" was legendary. But he was so much more. He brought joy and delight every time he stepped onstage. His work with ASL was pivotal and his work with his clients amazing. The world truly lost an angel. May you rest in eternal peace, Tank. You were loved by so many. May your memory be eternal.

For my family & I, Easter always included attending a performance of “JCS”, where Tank would entertain & amaze us with his singing and dancing. I did not know him outside of that role, however after reading about all that his life encompassed, he was so much more than an entertainer. R.I.P. Tank & my sympathies to all who knew and loved him.

I never met Robert but I have shared many emails and messages with him regarding our common Irish genealogy. He had sent a letter to my mother shortly before she passed connecting his Coyne family to her Lydon family. Since then, we have been sharing family histories. I will miss sharing information with him but I also know he will be guiding me through my search.

I met Tank when I was sitting in playing trombone with Eddie Fagan during what I feel were the glory days at Coleman’s. Tank would come in and sing with the band. We became good friends as a result. I asked him to sing “Somewhere” from West Side Story at my wedding as a dedication to my wife. She passed away seven years later. To this day his singing of that song at our wedding has incredible to me. Thanks Tank. You were the best and I know that for eternity you will be entertaining people Somewhere.

Tank was a very good friend of mine when I was a young man, he guided me through some of my first theatrical experiences, casting me in shows and supporting me along the way. We shared many, many pints of beer at Coleman's over the years, he was full of stories and loved to tell them.. He was a very kind, gentle man with a good spirit.
One Christmas Eve he came to an open house that my family held for friends and family. There was a sudden blizzard and Tank's car got stranded at the bottom of our street and he ended up sleeping on our sofa that night. He wasn't able to get his car out until the following afternoon and so he was stranded at our place. My parents didn't want to embarrass him by opening our presents in front of him so they insisted we wait until he was rescued. My little brother was NOT happy about that. It was about the most uncomfortable Christmas day any of us had ever experienced, just sitting around waiting for a tow truck. Tank paced the floor the entire time.
We've laughed about that day ever since, and he always referred to is as "The day I ruined Christmas".
I hope there's a giant stage in heaven and a magenta spotlight.
He will be missed.

Tank, you are missed for your joy of life and many passions, including our shared love of Ireland. Our adventures in Galway with Sheila and Cathi were remarkable, and your research abilities were brilliant.
Though we met late in life, your friendship was a constant and is an enduring treasure. Thank you.

My condolences to Tank’s family. We were friends for many years and shared many laughs. Enjoyed seeing him in most plays. He even did a seance at thirteen curves with me and my friends at midnight. Scared me because he had me convinced we would see something. He was a great guy and a good friend. Rest easy. You will be missing dearly. Sending prayers for comfort to his family. Cherish the memories
