Jimmy, Judy and Lizzy,
Chuck and I want to send our sincere condolences for the passing of your Mom. Your Mom and Dad were a big part of my Childhood and also in my Adult life with my husband. Chuck and I had many lively and fun conversations with Syd and Bob when we'd run into them at Park West, Wheelers and Twin Trees. They were good people and we enjoyed their company.
The year Syd traveled to Germany I was expecting my 1st child and for my baby shower gift she brought me back a signed Steiff Teddy Bear. She was so proud of that Bear, it was such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. She would be happy to know that bear is still in our family today.
May your happy memories comfort you in this difficult time and may she rest in peace.
With Sympathy,
Peg and Chuck Labenski

Jim, Judy and Elizabeth,
I'm very sorry for the loss of your mom. I remember her when I was around 15 lecturing Jim and I for soaping the windows at the church and making us go see the priest and admitting that it was us (not sure how she caught us). Your mom or Mrs J as I knew her was a wonderful lady that I will never forget. It has been said that everyone you meet in life has an impact on the person that you become; Mrs J made a very positive impact in my life and I believe that I'm a better person for knowing her.

One day many years ago, I made a quick trip to Destiny for a birthday gift. I held the elevator door open for a lady, and I did a double take when I saw her face...which she caught me doing. I apologized telling this lady she looked just like my high school librarian. "Oh? And who was that?" I told her I was from a small town, Canastota, and our librarian was Helen Martin. "Well, I'm Helen Jane's sister, Syd." I nearly fell over and told her Miss Martin and Mrs. Peterson used to go camping with my mom and dad...Syd knew just who I was.
Miss Martin just adored her family, especially each of her nieces and nephews. You were her world. I'm so very sorry to read that you lost your aunt and uncle, as well. Sending you and your cousins my deepest sympathy. There must be a wonderful reunion happening right now in heaven.
God bless you, Syd. You made the world a better place. Godspeed.
