     Marqueen Brown passed away quietly on Saturday June 18, 2022. She was born in Syracuse, NY on March 23, 1928 to the late Thomas and Irma Kennedy. She is a graduate of Delaware High School and Powelson Business Institute. She is predeceased by her husband Carl M. Brown and daughter Janeen M. Brown.

     “Queenie”, her nickname, worked as an Administrative Assistant at General Electric, where she met Carl. They were married on September 20, 1952. She is survived by sons Kevin (Sharon), Gary, Duane (Sandra) and Sean (Alice); grandchildren Christopher (Allison), Jennifer, Sister Mary Catherine SV, Sarah (P.J.), Stephen, Patrick, Tyler and Vanessa; great grandchildren Luke, Benjamin and Bradley.

     A lifelong resident of the West side of Syracuse, NY, Marqueen was a founding member and very active with St. Ann’s parish. For many years, she was the head of the laity group that assisted the Dominican Monastery in Syracuse.

    Marqueen was well known as an accomplished artist and an expert home cook. She also loved to volunteer at Brookdale Assisted Living facility, saying the rosary, where she became a resident in the fall of 2021.

     Visitation is on Monday June 27th at St. Ann’s Church, 4471 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse, NY 13219, from 9:00am until 10:00am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church at 10:00am. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery.
