Thinking of you all at this very sad time. Aunt Josie was a wonderful and kind women and I really appreciated meeting Josie and all my cousins whilst studying in the USA. Her home and heart were very welcoming to her English niece. Now at peace she will be reunited with Uncle Kieran and dad, her beloved brother Seamus and sister Bridget. I am very sorry to hear Mrs. Fitzpatrick has passed. Over a period of twenty years, several family members had surgeries and I was a frequent visitor at the hospital. I was so grateful for the kindness and encouragement from your mom. She was a beautiful soul and I never got to thank her properly for being so wonderful to me, my family, and every person she encountered. Her personality was also apparent in her son, who greeted us at the parking garage each day. I am sure her entire family is just as terrific!

Mrs. Fitzpatrick (or Mrs. Fitz as she was known in our neighborhood in Elmwood) was a steady presence in my (and many others) formative years. My family and her family go back over 5 decades and this is truly a loss for us all. She treated my brother, sister and I like we were her own; and she was very protective of all the children she had in her care when she was working as a stay at home mom doing child care as extra income. The Fitzpatrick home was a place where I laughed, ran, played with not only their children but with all the neighborhood's children who understood the Fitz's house was the epicenter of that little 4 block by 3 block place we called "the neighborhood" for many years. I could go on and on about the food, the trips to the movies, even the car rides to the grocery store but I want to send my condolences to Mike, Pat, Peggy (and her family), Sean, and Maureen (and her family) at this truly sad time. Your mom touched a lot of people's lives and I was honored to have known her. I'd like to think she is chatting away with my mom right now about something. May she finally be at peace.
