Obituary of Therese A. Fegley

Therese was born on Sept. 28, 1931 to Catherine (Fallon) and Charles Fegley in Fulton, NY.  

 

Therese was a graduate of Syracuse University where she received a BS in Education, and then taught Home and Careers in Whitesboro, NY and Greece, NY for 18 years. One of her greatest passions was involving her students in collecting items and providing care boxes for servicemen fighting in the Vietnam War. She later moved to Syracuse where she worked at Olsten Services retiring as a placement counselor and payroll supervisor.

 

Therese was an avid sports enthusiast.  She watched every Syracuse University game, loved cheering on the Buffalo Bills and was forever a Boston Red Sox fan. 

 

Therese was predeceased by her twin sister Mary Dolan, brothers William (Bill) Fegley and John (Jack) Fegley, brother-in-law Carl Dolan, and sister-in-law Mary Bogan Fegley.

 

She is survived by nieces Kathleen (John) Kolb, Karen (Michael) O’Rourke, Susan (David) Decker, Jean (Bill) Leiker, nephews Michael (Laurie) Fegley, John A. Fegley, sister-in-law Sally (John) Fegley, Jeananne Gibeault and many great nieces and nephews.

 

She was a proud, long-time member of St. Lucys’ parish in Syracuse, NY. She had many close friends, including those friends from St. Lucy’s, her Friday night dinner group, her many long-time teaching friends, and her Brighton Towers ladies. She loved you all so much.

 

Therese's Funeral mass will be at St Lucy’s Church on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 at 10am.  Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

 

Donations in Therese’s memory may be made to the Francis House, 108 Michael’s Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208.
