I was so sorry to read of Mary Lou's death. I extend my sympathy to her family. I worked with Mary Lou at GE HMED Court Street, and I recall greeting her daughter at the Jordan-Elbridge Central School many years later at what I believe was a spaghetti dinner, and at a time when she was a meteorologist on one of our local TV stations. Those years at GE was a time that many of us were about the same age, getting engaged, having bridal showers, and getting married. It was a wonderful time in our lives, and something good to remember. I never forgot Mary Lou, who was a real sweetheart.
Love to you all with God's blessings,
Jeanette Brown Horner

Ray, Mary, Kathy & The Grands,
I extend my deepest sympathy to all of you on the passing of Mary Lou.
We worked at SU in the College of Human Development then it became Falk College! We had such fun times. She was always there to answer questions! Mary Lou knew exactly what our students needed. Some Tough Love & others Extra TLC, she was always there for them!
I will keep my special memories of my friend close to my heart! p.s. Our common bond was we were very "talkative ladies"!
Much love, Cindy Sims

I first met Mary Lou at Syracuse University in 2001 when several colleges and departments came together as a new college. From the very beginning she was just so wonderful in sharing her knowledge of the majors of Nutrition , Nutrition Science and Hospitality …. That I knew nothing about, but so needed to be in the know as I would soon be certifying those degrees. Always smiling, always helpful, always dressed to the nines, perfectly accessorized with her jewelry, always sharing stories about her family and travels….but above all, a true lady and friend. I am so very sorry for your loss and wish you all peace and comfort in your wonderful memories of Mary Lou.

Although it has been so many years since I have seen Marylou, I spoke with her on the phone over the holidays. She seemed happy and alert and never mentioned she was ill. I am so sorry she passed. She was such a lovely person. She will be missed by many. So sorry to the family.

Mary Lou was the admin when I was a grad student in the SU nutrition programs, and when I returned to join the faculty 17 years later, she was still there! I have so many fond and funny memories of her. She was so kind and welcoming to everyone, and was not afraid to offer students some tough love when needed. She also had an incredible network of contacts. If something came up and she didn't already know the answer (a rare occasion), she always had a friend, neighbor, cousin, or someone in another office somewhere on our vast campus that she could call to get answers. I so enjoyed working with her. Go with God, Mary Lou, and may He bless and hold up your family.

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Orr’s passing. I have such fond memories of her when I was little. I would swim like a fish in the pool, and I would perform songs for everyone with Mrs. Orr cheering me on. She was such a fun and kind person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The Maser family is holding all of Mary’s loved ones in our hearts during this difficult time. She always had a kind and funny story and made us feel welcome at her families gatherings. She was a devoted grandmother and that is a beautiful thing to see in the world. She will be missed.
