Obituary of Thomas Francis Stack
Thomas Francis Stack left us on March 23, 2023. He was born on December 18th, 1934 to Thomas and Augusta Stack. He lived his entire life living in Syracuse, New York. He was a graduate from Most Holy Rosary High School, and immediately went into the US Army. When he returned, he attended Syracuse University. He became a Land Surveyor and worked his way up to having a thirty-five year career with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation.
Tom loved golf, skiing, and was a season ticket holder for Syracuse University Football starting at Archbold Stadium onto the Carrier Dome years. A lover of all sports, basketball was his passion and he coached many years of CYO basketball. His most accomplished moment was coaching the boys varsity team at Most Holy Rosary, his own alma-matter.
His friendships were very important to him. He went to church every morning followed by coffee with his dearest friends in his retirement years. Florida was his winter getaway from Syracuse “snow” and if you knew Tom he was happiest most being at the beach, a golf course or a pool.
Tom was married to his beautiful wife Sandy of sixty-two years who left us this past May 2022. His son Kevin who passed away in 2009 and his daughter Shancy (Patrick) who gave him his adoring Grandchildren, Will (Mary), Hannah and Sage Frances Fuller.
Tom had two sisters Patricia and Kathy who both left us many years ago.
He and Sandy had an extra friend and loved her as their own, Laurie Briggs.
Dad/Papa/Tom, go have an ice cold Labatt’s Blue, take a dip in your backyard oasis on Terrace Way as you have the 8 track tape blaring The Irish Rovers out the windows. We love you forever and thank you for just being you.
