Obituary of Patricia Stapleton Young

Patricia Stapleton Young, age 70, of Camillus, NY died June 10, 2023 at home. 

She was born April 6,1953 at Fort Polk, Louisiana, the eldest child and daughter of John and Ann Stapleton.  The majority of her life was spent in Syracuse, NY where she was surrounded by family and friends.  She was a graduate of Boston University, where she majored in English. She had a lifelong love of creative writing, reading, summer barbeques, nature walks, and spending time with those she loved.  She held numerous jobs over the years, and especially treasured her work with Catholic Charities and Easter Seals.  Patty always persevered and lived life to the fullest, no matter what the circumstances.

She is predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) and her daughter Lauren.  She is survived by her beloved grandson Shiloh, her siblings Janet (Ross) Stefano, Mary Stapleton (Morry Langer), John (Kath) Stapleton, and Nancy (Greg) Hannon, as well as treasured members of her family and many friends.

Calling hours will be held August 10, 2023 from 2:30-4:30pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Sons Funeral Home.  Internment will be private.  Further details may be found through the website edwardjryanandson.com as the date of the memorial approaches.
