Obituary of Patricia Bouchard
Patricia Ellen (Cochrane) Bouchard, Tishi to friends and family, passed away on December 6th surrounded by her family. She was born in Concord, NH to James and Mary Cochrane in July of 1953. Raised in Hillsboro, NH she was a 1971 graduate of Hillsboro-Deering High School and participated on the cheering teams. After completing a year of secondary school, in September of 1972 she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Bouchard, a union that has lasted fifty-one years.
She and Bill built a home in Washington, NH and resided there for twenty years, raising their children and enjoying the small town life. Bill was active in area youth sports so Tishi became the consummate soccer mom transporting the kids to practices and games almost daily. In summers, she became a regular at the town beach, basking in sunshine and enjoying the programs that Camp Morgan provided. She went on to become an employee of the Postal Service and worked in the Washington, Francestown, and Contoocook NH post offices. In 1996, they moved to Syracuse for Bill’s job. Over time she settled in and gained a whole new collection of wonderful friends and neighbors. She continued her postal career, retiring in 2013 from the Bayberry, NY post office. She was a hard worker and gave them all she had each day.
In retirement, she and Bill traveled widely; tours of the west, some Florida time, and spent more days at their summer camp in NH. In 2019 kidney disease caught up to her and put the brakes on, having to do home dialysis daily. She endured many physical setbacks in those years but never complained because “it wouldn’t do any good”. She loved to garden, both flowers and food plants, enjoying the colors and flavors of things she raised. She was a card-carrying member of every casino she went past, causing many a U-turn on the roads they traveled. She was a great cook, loved to shop and buy stuff we didn’t need, fancied herself as a photographer piling up thousands of pictures still in files, and with Bill loved to entertain and meet new people. Spoiling her grandchildren was her biggest joy.
Tish’s spirit, love and influence endure in the hearts of her family and friends that were fortunate enough to share her life. She will be missed by all. She lost her sister, Kathy Morrill, during Covid and infant twins, Angela and Joclyn. She is survived by her husband, Bill, loving and caring children, Caissie Wilcox (Dan) of Hastings, NY and Jesse Bouchard (Kim) of Aspen, CO, as well as a son, Lucas, brother,Jack (Faye) and sisters, Joanne and Maureen (Andreas). Her devoted grandchildren, Kaitlin and Cara Wilcox, Robby Bouchard and Julian Bouchard, continue to shine a light on her legacy today.
A shout out from the family for the exceptional care and compassion from her nephrologist, Simardeep Mangat and the James Street Fresenius Kidney Clinic. They truly made a difference in her life. Also, the ICU at Crouse Hospital for their excellent care in the final days. They were wonderful.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5-7pm Tuesday December 12, 2023 at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. A prayer service will follow immediately after calling hours. Burial will be private.
We ask that any donations in her memory be directed to the Howlett Hill Fire Department, 3384 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, NY 13215.
