Obituary of Eugenia Gallagher
Syracuse, New York - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eugenia Gallagher, fondly known as Genie, on Tuesday, December 12, at the age of 82. Genie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, and her presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
Genie was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1941, and she spent the majority of her life in Upstate New York. Throughout her lifetime, she touched the hearts of many with her warmth and unwavering love for her family. Genie is survived by her three children: Heather Waite (husband Dave Waite), Michael Holm, and Christian Holm. She was also a cherished grandmother to her two grandchildren, Brooke (Waite) Giannattasio (husband Dave Giannattasio) and Corey Waite.
In 2020, Genie faced the loss of her beloved husband, Jerry Gallagher, who passed away on October 27. Their enduring love and companionship were an inspiration to all who knew them. Together, they shared a passion for travel and cherished moments spent on the beach, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Genie had a zest for life and an eye for the finer things. She had a particular love for a hot cup of coffee and enjoyed her water with a refreshing touch of ice. Her impeccable taste was reflected in her admiration for all things Mackenzie-Childs and her sense of fashion, which she wore with elegance and grace. She was a true friend to many, and her infectious spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Eugenia Gallagher, we remember her for the love she gave, the smiles she shared, and the memories she created. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come.
A memorial service to honor Genie's life will be held at a later date and time. All are welcome to attend and pay their respects to this remarkable woman who touched so many hearts.
