Everyone will surely miss Henry. We were 1952 classmates. Together we were voted Most Friendly for the yearbook; went to first prom, together. Used to stop at store whenever I went North from Florida, just to say Hi. He was always gracious, full of stories and never lost that friendly smile. He'll be remembered for his many good deeds and will be welcomed with open arms at the Golden Gate. Rest in peace for a job well done.

When we arrived in Syracuse in 1985, Henry was the first person in the neighborhood that we met. He invited our family to their 25th wedding anniversary party in their backyard, where we met all our neighbors.. It meant so much to us.
Since then, we’ve had many great times over the years. Some of those that come to mind include: 1)In Boqueron, the beautiful beaches, the Paso Fino horse races, the Salsa dancing at the club up in the hills, and the pig roast in the country 2) Operas: The trip to the Met to see Heidi Grant Murphy in Der Rosencavalier, and the many trips to Glimmerglass with the picnics on the grounds, 3) The terrific trip to France with all our friends, and 4) Our many times out to dinner where we would be treated to Henry’s jokes well told.
But throughout, the constant gifts gifts that we received from Henry were his humor, generosity, and kindness. We love you Henry.

I worked for Centore's for thirteen years and couldn't have had a better man to work with. It wasn't just a boss/employee relationship, we had great times working together and playing together. Henry and his family (and many aunts, uncles, and cousins) treated myself and my wife Nancy like family. He always had a good word for most everyone and everything, along with more jokes and stories than anyone I knew. He will be missed by all who knew him.God bless you Henry.

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Centore’s passing. The last time I saw him he said “Goodbye and I love you, honey.” He said to me often during the 53 years of friendship I have shared with Jenny. I was a regular at the Juneway house over the years, and he welcomed me as one of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Centore, and Aunt Patty, and the kids, filled the place with love and laughter and warmth. Mr. Centore attended all of the milestones of my life, and he supplied the tuxes. With my mom, he celebrated all things Italian and Skunk City, and with my dad, he toasted the Irish. Dad and Hank mixing up the Manhattans, and Mom and Patrice putting on the pasta…that was a little bit of heaven on earth.

What a friendly and kind man was Henry! We remember him at all the many Bridal Shows that were held in the 70s and 80s as vendors in the wedding business. We would always send extra (Fremont Bakery) cake home with him. He always had a smile and was just one of the nicest people we ever met. May he rest in peace as he has definitely lived a full life. His next season will be one of comfort and joy in the heavens above. With our condolences,

Jenny, so sorry to read about your Dad’s passing. He obviously lived an amazing life and left a legacy of love and service to others. Our condolences to you and your family. I remember getting fitted for a suit at the shop in Liverpool. My own father was with me and when asked what shoe size he needed he replied, triple E. Your father quickly responded “triple E, that’s a country Tripoli!”. He must have said it many times. His smile and sense of humor made us feel right at home.

Went to work for Henry after high school in 1966 on Salina St. He was a true mentor for me, and became a great friend. It really wasn't like "work." He had a great sense of humor and readily incorporated that into the business. He totally enjoyed the move to Western Lights, getting out of the downtown environment. Shared many a lunch with him at The Westwood or James Rock Spring. Fish sandwiches, draft beers, and of course a finishing Schnapps. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet all of his offspring, only Jenny and Maria when they were toddlers. After reading his obit, I am amazed at what a wonderful life he led. Not surprising. Remarkable man. I will miss him greatly. To Patrice and the rest of la famiglia, my deepest condolences. Happy Trails my friend!

Henry touched so many lives and treated all of them the same. He felt like family to all of our family. We loved and respected him so much. Such a pleasure to be near him and to see how he treated each of us. Henry brought such joy to all the volunteers and to the men he served. We are sure God has a special place for his servant and is welcoming Henry with the words WELL Done, WELL DONE.
