Deepest condolences to Jim's family and friends. Jim was the most wonderful neighbor at Upper Crown. He and my mom shared a birthday and we had fun giving him little gifts on that day. Once you met Jim he became your friend, always asking how you were and if you needed anything. He always had a smile and a quick wit. He will be sorely missed at Upper Crown. RIP dear neighbor and friend.

My sincere condolences to all of Smitty's family - and friends. His SPD career was characterized by not only dedicated service, but a genuine, friendly demeanor that permeated to everyone who crossed his path. An intensely proud Irishman, he radiated good will wherever he went and was always a great listener. Smitty, may you Rest In Peace forever!

Smitty was my ET partner for many years. It was the best relationship I had in the PD. When he made Sergeant. He moved to a different shift. Went I retired I would meet Paul Larkin & Smitty for coffee many mornings. Lasting memories!

Jimmy, you will be missed. Your quick wit and the twinkle in your eye will be missed; but never forgotten. Jim was a product of the city, Rosary, and told me he felt blessed to have had the opportunity to be a Syracuse Police Officer. Well Jim , the city can never thank you enough for your years of service. Rest Peacefully my friend
