Obituary of Louis Snow
Louis John Snow III passed away Sunday September 15, 2024, just days shy of his 81st birthday surrounded by his friends and family.
Born in Syracuse, NY to Louis and Patricia Snow, he attended Most Holy Rosary High School and graduated from Vocational High School. In 1970 he was working at Monroe Title and Abstract in downtown Syracuse, after stealing the shoe of a lovely brunette they decided to marry. Married for 54 years, they had five children and lived happily in Marcellus for 43 years. Louis was passionate about his children, his wife, basketball and the Parochial League of Syracuse. After a career as a salesman, Louis opened the Old Parochial League, a pub in downtown Syracuse dedicated to the basketball league he had such fond memories of. The pub was decorated with jerseys, old photos and old-timers would come to remember the glory days. He spent his last working years alongside his very dear friend at Niland Building Services. He was an avid golfer and socializer. He was golfing up until his last days. He would spend time at the Pasttime Club, the downtown YMCA, and various country clubs around the area. He adored the CNY area. He had a great sense of humor and was a friend to many and a stranger to none.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and is survived by four siblings, Peter, Ursula, Elizabeth (Patricia) and Mary Dee and preceded in death by his sister Judith (Paul). He will be sorely missed by his devoted wife Donna, his loyal son Louis J. Snow IV (Allyson) His loving daughters, Meredith (Spring), Andrea (Scott), Joanna (Eishad), and Lauren (Jared) and his 16 dear grandchildren, Isabella, Venah, Forest, Corinna, Iyah, Milo, Harrison, William, Savannah, Elijah, Drew, Rashad, Amari, Xuan, Finnegan and Brooklynn.
Calling hours will be held Thursday October 10, 2024 at Edward Ryan Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00. A service will be held immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Samaritan Center, 215 N State St, Syracuse, NY 13203.
