Judge Murphy was impartial and always well-prepared. In the early 1980s, he was one of a just a few local judges who treated women attorneys respectfully and without bias. It was a pleasure to appear before Judge Murphy. My heartfelt condolences to the Murphy family.

As an attorney, I appeared several times before Justice Murphy. At those times, one was always assured of fair treatment and an opportunity to be heard, which was frequently not the case with several other judges in Onondaga County. Although long since retired, I still remember feeling confident when Judge Murphy was the judge assigned to my case. His kind has been and will always be missed.
