I was saddened to receive the call about Dave's passing. As a former class mate , I knew Dave as a positive person and making friends with everyone. Dave was able to accomplish many things in his life and still enjoyed being apart of the Syracuse area as well as staying in touch with his fellow class mates. We will miss him.

As treasurer of Oakwood Cemeteries of Syracuse, Inc. for the past several years I had the privilege of observing Dave present his firm's annual audit at our 8:00 am executive finance committee meetings. All of Dave's great mix of attributes of strong intelligence and knowledge, excellent communication skills and wonderful outgoing and friendly personality and almost continuous smile were consistently on display. I also had the privilege of attending his wonderful funeral service at St. Pat's which confirmed my perception of Dave gleaned from all my previous encounters. He was the real deal and none of the many accolades sent his way was overstated. Someone else will succeed Dave in "covering my back" but no one will be able to do so with such class. My prayers are with Dave's family in this painful time.

To the family of Dave:
Dave was not only brilliant and a great CPA, but he was also a very generous and caring individual that was sure to brighten up anyone's day that crossed his path. I have great memories of Dave at TMD, where he acted as a boss, mentor and a friend, but I also have additional memories working the St. Pats Irish festival as well as the downtown festival. I am very grateful to have had the chance to know Dave and am proud to say that I am where I am today largely due to the fact that I took some advice from Dave a few years back. I remember sitting in the "money rooms" at these festivals counting the earnings so Dave was able to mingle with the whole community. Whenever people would come back, they never needed change for their respective station, they just wanted to know where Dave was so they could shake his hand and say hello. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time.

To Dave's Family,
My first job after college was at Testone,Marshall & Discenza. Dave was a wonderful boss, mentor and teacher. He not only taught me about accounting he also taught me so much about life. I also worked with Dave at the St. Patrick's Festival. We worked in the small room in the gym counting money. I have wonderful memories of Dave singing all of the old Irish songs. Dave was a wonderful man. I will always remember him and when I do I will smile.

To all of Dave's family.
I was fortunate to initially know Dave "from the neighborhood", then at Henninger High, during college, professionally and recently reconnecting at the reunions. His picture has captured our fond memories and says it all. You could not help but smile and laugh for good reasons when you were with and around Dave. He was truly an inspirational spirit of the graduating class and was truly a "consummate professional". Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave and his family at this time.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Dave's passing. Not only was he a boss and colleague, but a friend. He became a mentor to me in my days at TMD and taught me that compassion was not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and daughter as well as with my friends at TMD. Rest in peace, Dave. I will never look at a four-leaf clover again without thinking of you and the impact you had on my life.
