Obituary of James Roger Cardinell

James "Roger" Cardinell, 77, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Roger was self employed working in construction and as a mechanic. He was an avid local dirt racing fan and loved NASCAR. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Olive; son, James Roger Jr.; great grandson, Noah Scott Cardinell; siblings, Shirley, Clifford, Theodore, Kenneth, Richard, and William; daughter-in-law, Wendy Ann and son-in-law, Charlie Sienkeiwicz. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Harriett (Jones) Cardinell; children, Randy (Carol), Cindy (Bleich) William, and Debbie (John) Cummings; brothers, Robert, Larry (Grace) and Gary; 8 grandchildren, Tina (June), Ryan (Christina), Steven, Kelly, Ashley, Corey (Brieanna), Thomas (Victoria) and Megan, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and long time family member, Michael (Tabitha) McCann. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm prior to the service. Burial will be private.
