Charles, Sara and Family, I was so very sorry to hear of Rae's passing. Rae was simply and complexly a good person. In so many ways and in so many contexts. I was privileged to know Rae during the years we were part of group of women academics trying to support each other's intellectual and personal commitments to work that mattered to us. Rae was beyond generous. Always thoughtful, creative, and intensely engaged in her own teaching, scholarship and practice, Rae was fully engaged, supportive and open to that of others.
I cannot begin to imagine the hole that is now in your hearts and lives. Rae was simply one of those amazing people who make the world happen. Who care, love, act, think and ultimately make life better for people, institutions and communities of all sorts at many levels. Plus Rae was funny, warm and adventurous. Such sad, sad news. With admiration and deep respect for Rae. Mary Stanley
