Claude and Donna are my godparents. Even though we live several states away, they took the time out of a very busy work and family schedule to commute to Wisconsin to attend my wedding 25 years ago. We have kept in touch over the years through letters and Christmas cards. While I didn't get the opportunity to spend a lot of time with them, I always felt they were looking out for me. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Marcie (Knutson) Kafura.

Donna, Ann Marie and Charlie,
I am truly saddened to hear about your husband's/father's passing. You all know how much I enjoyed being a part of his medical team for so many years with Dr Small. He was not only a patient, I always considered him a friend. A man with one of the biggest hearts I know. He always had a smile on when he came into the office...well, most of the time, 😉. Thinking of all of you and your families during this difficult time.
Gina Coomey.

To all of Claude's family,
What a wonderful gentlemen your husband, father was, so kind to all. I called on him for many years at P&C. At our annual Peter Pan night at the Syracuse Chiefs, Claude and his lovely wife were always there, I would make a special batch of peanut butter cookies for Claude, you would think I gave him a box of gold! He always made us feel special. His example of leadership will not be duplicated in my lifetime. He was the best in all ways!
Claude you will be missed but you will be remembered in the very best of ways!

To Charley and Family, So sorry to here of Claudes passing. I always enjoyed talking to him at work. Could never figure out how he could remember all our names in the warehouse at P&C. He would listen to use and you could tell that he really cared. He was the best. Again, so sorry.

To the Incaudo Family,
I have had the honor and pleasure of spending time with Claude on several occasions- fishing trips to Savannah Dhu, fishing and playing cards at the annual trip to Canada and golfing at various events around Syracuse. As a good friend to my dad Mike, he was always genuinely interested in how my family was doing and the work/travel I was engaged in. I appreciated the conversations and camaraderie of the time spent together.
Please accept our deepest sympathies. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

I worked at P&C/Penn Traffic for many years in the IT department. I was always impressed that Claude knew my name and what I did. I was simply one of many IT employees at the time. Every Christmas he would show up at my door to personally wish me a Merry Christmas. I've never heard of a CEO doing that. I would often see him eating in the cafeteria with some of the warehouse workers - no doubt finding out exactly how things were going from those doing the work. Some CEOs who came after him were never seen outside of their office. He was a wonderful leader and taught us all what a leader should be.

Claude Incaudo was a valued business friend. He was a treasured leader who was the epitome of the proverb, "The teacher hasn't taught if the pupil hasn't learned." Those of us who did business with the supermarket chain(s) piloted by Claude bore witness to the integrity, transparency, fairness and work ethics instilled by Claude. He was the consummate teacher. I find it impossible to offer condolences when this great man has left so much for which we can be grateful. For many years I had the pleasure to be a golf cart riding partner of Claude's in an annual charity tournament in Syracuse. Business was never discussed. Family always was. "You could love a guy like that" is a lyric from a Broadway show. We did love him and he loved all of us back. To his wife, children, and extended family who have been left a trove of Claude's goodness we wish for all of you all that you wish for yourselves and know how enriched legions of us have been because of Claude's influence. I had the honor and privilege to work for Mr. Incaudo when I worked for his Consumer Affairs Department at the P&C corporate offices. I was only 21 years old and in complete awe of his kindness. He would come in almost daily to say hi to us individually. He made me feel so valued and important as such a young age.
I never forgot Mr. Incaudo and thought of him often. I had hoped our paths would cross again someday.
To his family I am truly sorry for your loss. My heart is heavy.
Phenomenal human being.

To Mrs. Incaudo,
I am so very sorry for your loss. What a wonderful life Claude lived with you at his side.
Years ago, I met Mr. Incaudo when I was the 'play lady' (childlife specialist) at Upstate Medical's 5C pediatric hematology/oncology clinic. He was absolutely KEY in helping CNY's seriously ill children and families.
I worked on many committees that Claude lead. He was a founder of the 'new' Pediatric ICU @Upstate Medical, and generous supporter of CNY Make a Wish, Ronald McDonald House, and Hope for Bereaved.
One day, we ate lunch together at the hospital cafeteria. He had already been given a tour of our renovated 5C playroom. I'll never forget how easy it was to talk with him about the great strides in children's health care, treatments and allowing children to be children. I had to catch myself discussing medical stuff while we were eating.
I apologized and he immediately put me at ease. He told me he knew I passionately dedicated to children and families. He told me he loved my attitude that children's lives can always be improved. Then he shared his thoughts.
Mr. Incaudo said that one's experience of life usually has more to do with what we focus our attention on than it does with events. Bad things might happen, in fact, they will happen. But, the good things are still all around us. He said if you only see the one bad thing, then life is bad. He noted that when people consciously switch focus and look high and low for the good, life improves.
THANK YOU Mrs. Incaudo and your children, for all your love and support that allowed Mr. Incaudo to do so much good and tremendously improving so many children's lives.
