To all the Read and Petrocci families, So very saddened to hear of Mary's passing. I have fond memories of being Treeland Circle neighbors to the Reads and again being Mary's neighbor on Skyview Terrace. Mary always had a smile and I can still hear her great laugh! We shared many times over the years at Ludden ('77). I haven't seen Mary in many years, but I know she was a dedicated and caring nurse. The last time I met her in Wegman's parking lot, she had three pagers on her waist, always available to whoever needed her. She spoke so proudly of her boys. May God bless you all.
Love, Patty(Thornton) Burnham

Dear Speed Read and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Mary. I also deeply apologize for missing the calling hours, I didn’t learn about them until they were already over.
I would’ve love to see the adult Read family. It was pretty neat to be apart of the household at times when we were in high school. I always remember listening to Toronto Maple Leafs games on the radio in the big kitchen when it was Mike’s turn to make lunches. Still listen to radio hockey to this day, it reminds me of back in the day at the huge kitchen table at Reads.
Mary was a wonderful friend and a great part of our group. She ALWAYS had the best sleepovers. It would’ve been nice to meet her adult children and all of their families.
How proud you all must be to know that you’re sister, mother, aunt was a hero. Bill and Mary would have been so proud too.
Please except my deepest condolences. I pray that the pain of losing Mary will soon be superseded by the memory of what a true hero she was.
Love,
Mimi Korzeniewski Appel

Where do I Begin? We became great friends at 11 years old. Through the years that friendship grew. The ground round, college days, the flyin column, and even neighbors in Florida. All the fun we’ve had. All these memories will be treasured. There’s no one like you, Mary. I love you dearly my cousin/BFF. Things won’t be the same and I await the day that we come together again and laugh and laugh as we have in the past. Mayo! Love one of the three Mayo girls, your cousin Nancy.

She was so giving and such a friend to me. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and Mary will be missed. She changed careers to help others and gave so much of herself including her life. Billy, Jimmy and Danny,
I am so saddened to learn of your mother's passing. We had many fun moments at Bishop Ludden, (and shenanigans at the Saint Charles dances)...years later, watching our children at Saint Patrick's school...Her sense of humor and confidence was beyond compare. She was truly a gem and I will miss her. Prayers to you.
