Good times with Suzie!

I am deeply saddened to hear my childhood friend has passed way before her time. Suzie and I were the best of friends. I was always in awe of her fearlessness. She could do whatever she put her mind to: sports, cheerleading, played an instrument along with being an excellent student.
I thought it was the greatest twist of fate when she & Billy got together because then Suzie was officially family.
I have fond memories of all our crazy adventures together and of the time spent at her family's camp on Skaneateles Lake where on one day when swimming her brother who was fishing nearby cast his line & caught Suzie by the ear! We joked later that Timmy had caught a really big BASS. Suzie was as tough as they come & those scrapes only made her tougher...
no doubt making her an awesome compassionate nurse.
I was fortunate to finally reunite with her after many years apart two years ago. I am truly grateful for that time now. She was a force to be reckoned with & gone way too soon.
To her children, Kada, Shayne, & Breanna, & all her family & friends, I send my most sincerest condolences. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
Happy Trails, my friend,
Maureen (your partner in crime)
(PS~ I send out a big hello to Sue Brown, Peter H., & Nancy C., Wow! It has been nearly 50 years!)

We shared an amazing bond for 40 years, shared each other’s ups and downs and were always able to pick up where we left off. Thank you for your unconditional love, your smile and your laughter. I will carry them with me always. Soar high my white winged dove.

Q: How did you meet Suzanne?
A: We grew up with Suzie and she married our cousin Billy. I always remember her as a kid, she was fearless. The loss to all of her family and friends will be felt forever. Rest in peace Suzie, we all loved you.

Suzie was one of my Soul Sister's; I am blessed to have more than one. She was someone I knew from Kindergarten on and her family also attended St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic church in Skaneateles NY. We became very good friends at the start of our Freshmen year of high school. We were able to stay in touch over the years; I fondly recall all the times we went ice skating, sledding and swimming. She dearly loved her family; her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life! One amusing memory from high school that I would like to share is of a picture that found it's way into our yearbook. Sophomore year we were class officers and there was a picture of me and Suzie standing next to each other, I was holding books and a science folder to my chest. On it was written our teacher's name: Mr. Hosey and underneath was a cartoonish picture drawn of him ... whelp, you guessed it! Artwork courtesy of Suzanne Elizabeth Bass. I didn't know it was there until I saw the picture in our yearbook. Loved that lady! My condolences to her children and to all of her family and friends. She is already greatly missed. God's Blessings to all

I was so sorry to hear today of Suzie's passing. The news prompted many memories of great conversations and lots of fun during our high school years. My condolences to both the Gleason and Bass families. May the company of family and friends provide comfort during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened that Susie is gone. We were friends in high school. I cherish these times when life was idyllic and full of swimming, waterskiing and laughter. Susie had a wonderful laugh and a huge heart. Susie wrote me long letters those early years after high school. We spoke a few years ago over the phone and that is a small miracle for me that I now will treasure. I will hold her spirit close to mine as I pray for her everlasting peace and for her loved ones at this time of grieving.

Suzie was our neighbor for 26 years. She was the first to welcome us to the neighborhood, and never missed an opportunity to have a friendly chat or just wave across the driveway. She and her family will remain forever cherished in our hearts. Shane, Kayda and Bre, you mom was one in a million and we will never forget her.

Shayne ,Kada & Breanna, I’m so sorry to learn of your Mom’s passing. I hadn’t seen her since Bill’s passing but Suzy was someone who once introduced to became a friend and regardless of time passed was always comfortable to run into because she made it seem as if it was only yesterday you’d spoken. You’re in my thoughts, God Bless Suzy!

It was always a good day when Suzie was around. We grew up together, and then a few years later, we were working together. Always full of energy, and truly one of the best nurses that I had the honor to work with. We were all thrilled to see Suzie at our class reunion a few years ago. So sad to see her go, but the memories will make me smile.
