Charles Joseph Galloway, 77, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home with his family on July 25, 2017 after a short, courargeous fight with cancer. Chuck owned and operated C & J Floor Specialist for over 30 years. He was a life member, past president and treasurer of the Anglers Association of Onondaga (Webster’s Pond). He volunteered for 25 years with the Syracuse Fire Department Explorer Post 280. He loved fishing, golfing and the band Flying Column.
He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Galloway and siblings, Kathleen and Michael.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy, 6 children; Debra Galloway, Patricia Simone, Joseph (Anne), James (Stacy), Daniel (Brett), Mary (Scott) Ripley, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brothers, Richard and Thomas, Uncle Tom and Aunt Edith Kaufman and several nieces and nephews. Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church, 216 N. Lowell, Syracuse. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery.
