Rosemary was my second grade teacher and my colleague in the Syracuse City School District. She was a lady...a woman of grace, intelligence, integrity and purpose. An excellent teacher, her life was defined by what she could do for others. When I wrote Ashes From A Long Dead Fire: A History in Poetry and Prose.of the Collins Block Fire, I did not know that her father was one of the casualties until we met at one of the memorials in Firefighters' Park. She honoured him in all that she did and in all that she was. Hers was a life well-lived. May she rest now and let the thousands who were so ably guided by her carry on.
